This was a fun collaboration with Taylor James, a CGI production company, for a Dupont advertisement. The ad agency Ogilvy hired us to shoot various scenarios to show the "toughness" of their Teflon paint. I shot real children's hand prints and real ice cream. One of the benefits was being able to bring home the extra ice cream, sprinkles and cones for my daughter.
I was approached by a company named Sticky Pictures http://www.stickypictures.com/, a design and animation studio for this job. I shot all the still images with blue screens and Sticky Pictures filled the screens with the project they had already been working on with USA networks. This was my first job working with hand and parts models. I was amazed at the difference in hiring professionals for this kind of work. The images came out beautifully. USA networks later came back and hired me to shoot the same type of thing but motion picture this time. They used the clips in network TV commercials. My debut into the world of television.
I worked with CGI production company Taylor James http://www.taylorjames.com/ on this pharmaceutical shoot. I shot the portraits on a gray and Taylor James inserted the background with there classic landscapes and sky. In order to accomplish the overhead shots, I needed to find a studio with extra high ceilings to drive a massive scissor lift into. I shot from 45' off the ground.
Get Bergamot, http://www.getbergamot.com/ was started by two close friends of mine, Anne Serrano McClain of http://www.mcmcfragrances.com and Jason Fried. The concept: Once a month, you would be mailed three sample fragrances from small batch perfumers. Each beautifully packaged box came with an accompanying booklet that would describe the month's theme the perfumes that were sampled. I photographed the artwork for the first three boxes and worked closely with the team to visually accomplish a theme for each month that would enhance the experience. I usually do not do this type of work but I really enjoyed making these images.
I shoot still and Motion for this project. I worked with Taylor James http://www.taylorjames.com/ on this advertizement for Oxytrol. I worked closely with the agency LLNS to accomplish this very involved shoot. Taylor James instructed me to have the bathroom physically built instead of relying heavily on CGI. I sourced all the material my self and I had my set designer Brian Backman www.brianbackman.com and his crew construct this bathroom as if it was a real fully functioning commerchial restroom. There was no pumbing but all the title and stalls where the real thing. Taylor James extened the wall for the long horizanl picturte.
I worked with the CGI company Taylor James http://www.taylorjames.com/ on an advertisement for the drug Ablify. CAHG, one of the largest healthcare communications agencies in the world, wanted an image of a person reflecting a happier version of themselves in a train window. This project involved shooting over 2 days entirely on a large green screen stage. Creatively it was a fun challenge to shoot in the green screen environment, everything had to be measured out precisely for the CGI mapping. We also shot a motion picture aspect, all CGI as well, that you can see if you follow this link.

I shot a series of advertisements for Anzie Jewelry that were published in Harper's Bazaar and Elle Magazine. We shot Brazilian beauty, Celia Becker for 3 seasons. This particular shoot was shot in Long Island, NY at the beach in a remote dune area that reflects an exotic desert look. Visit Anzie's website to see more of my work:
This editorial was shot in Greenport, Long Island for The Collective Magazine http://www.thecollectivemag.com/. Our location was a large Victorian house located in the main part of town. Because of Greenport's deep and protected harbor, it was a major whaling port in the early 1800's with a bustling shipbuilding industry. The town is nostalgic and I wanted to capture this mood in my images. I shot a video for this as well that you can view at the bottom of the page or by following this link.
Ellipse is an international lingerie and swimwear company based in Columbia. The client hired me to shoot their campaigns and marketing for several of their different brands for many seasons. Ellipse's most provocative pieces belong to a line called Nuit. I wanted to keep the images elegant yet playful and seductive.
I worked for a number of years for a publication called NIkki Styles out of Miami which is no longer in production. Here is a collection of tear sheets from then.
I was approached by a new brand that needed a complete marketing package for their website and brand launch. After many meetings we shot over several days to give M.Bottiglieri a high end luxury feel. The brand is inspired by warm emotions and good feelings engendered by la coccinella–Italian for ladybug. Visit their site to see more of the shoot:
I worked as a freelancer for Alloy http://www.alloyapparel.com. I shot there E-Commerce on figure and still life soft goods for the web site at the in house studio.
Ellipse is an international lingerie and swimwear company based in Columbia. The client hired me to shoot their campaigns and marketing for several of their different brands for many seasons. Ellipse's Essentials line is their basic pieces so we kept the images simple and beautiful. This catalog was shot in my studio Loft 402 www.loft402.com in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Galaxy DDO185 was a colaberation with my long time makeup artist Chico Mitsui https://thewildmagazine.com/blog/galaxy-ddo185-by-harry-fellows/
This is the Lingerie Catalog that I shoot for Ellipse Lingerie in the Deserts of California. We stayed at really cute motel on Old Route 66 and ended up shooting a few of the looks in there parking lot that was littered with nistolgic memorabilia from Old Route 66. The beautiful Laure Sheilds @MsLauraShields was our model. We also found a few abandon house that we shot in. The area was like a move set and offered so much visually. Had a lot of fun shooting this one.
This is one of the few men's shoots I have done but I am looking for new clients in this area.
A stylist I worked with on a recent project introduced me to an up and coming director name Jennifer Delia. Jennifer was directing an off Broadway play starring Julia Stiles and James Wirt called Phoenix. She asked me to help with the marketing and advertising. We shot for one day in my studio with the two actors and the photos were used for the play's poster, playbill and press releases. The releases were distributed on the PR wires and ended up appearing in hundreds of publications around the world.
I shot this with the stylist Brendan Cannon http://thecannonmediagroup.com/ and the amazing model Maritza for The Collective Magazine http://www.thecollectivemag.com/. I love the raw feel of this. Not my most commercial work but definitely some of my favorite.
These photos were originally for a magazine called The Collective Magazine http://www.thecollectivemag.com/. The Hot Sardines were a fun crew to shoot. They performed their '20s, '30s and '40s "Paris via New Orleans" foot stomping jazz while I shot. The location was a massive art space in Red Hook Brooklyn that previously housed Pioneer Iron Works, a large machine manufacture. It was hot and the band was sweating, but it didn't stop us from have a great time. The band also used these images for public relations, marketing and album.
I had the opportunity to shoot Julia Stiles for the play Phoenix. Julia's Rep in NYC contacted me for a meeting after the shoot because they wanted to use one of the images for her current head shot.
I shot this during a video shoot for Conde Nast for Procter and Gamble (Covergirl). We shot a short film about Ashley Wagner who was heading to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. She was one of the athletes selected by Cover girl to represent the brand. I was director of photography and producer on this job, working with the director and photographer Chris Floyd http://www.chrisfloyd.com/. Ashley went on to win a bronze metal in the group competition for team USA.
I shoot Morgan Spector just before he made is first appearance on the series Boardwalk Empire. He wanted to have some new shots to reflect the role he had in the seires so it was a well timed shoot.
